Hi everyone
So today i take my son for his back to school haircut to the usual salon we take him to. They inform me he can only have shampoo cut and they can't do a dry cut for some reason related to covid and on top of that a £4 levy for their adjustments or something, i just got on with it as the lady on the phone mentioned it would only be shampoo so i just thought well whatever he desperately needs a haircut. Didn't realise it would be so expensive as he's a child under 10 but i couldn't refuse.
Anyway i tell the stylist (not the usual one we see) that i want his hair cutquite short as i dont want to come back for a couple of months so she cuts it and then when shes finished i politely ask her to cut some more and then finally it looks nice and neat, styled and combed etc. We get back home and its all everywhere and to my dismay the fringe is still covering his eyes and not much has been taken off.
I rang the salon and stylist was very defensive and said i was happy with it but i explained it was nicely combed back so wasnt sitting on his eyes as it would do when it isnt damp.
I basically wanted to have her trim some more off but obviously i don't want to pay another £23 for a kid's haircut when normally i'd pay half that. We didn't want or need it shampooing. The before and after pics of his hair dont look different and i feel like crying that i've been charged so much for so little taken but more importantly his eyes are still covered by the hair which obviously looked nice and bare when i left the salon thinking it was nice and short. I was anxious coming out to shopping centre after being in the house since march and the thought of having a wasted trip and money wasted really upsets me.
Anyway i will be ringing up the manager tomorrow and hope she can cut it for free. She does a great job with his hair and if anyone deserves the hiked prices it's her but i literally can't afford to pay again. Please advise what i can do or my rights if she refuses to help, i don't like confrontation and my anxiety is out of control cos of lockdown as it is.
Thanks
