All summer I’ve been doing Take a Bloody Break and Heart FM’s money competition, I just don’t seem to have any luck!!! Could really do with some good fortune, our finances are looking dire. I’ve never actually won anything so I was wondering if anyone on here has actually had any luck in these competitions?!!

£800 on heart fm

Winner2020 · 27/08/2020 20:20

I've name changed as I know some of my colleagues are on here.

I won £3K 2 weeks ago on Heart. I was gobsmacked but chuffed to bits. They played back the 'winning' conversation a few
Minutes later when I told my DP and I almost cringed inside out 😂

mummabubs · 27/08/2020 20:26

When I was in my teens I won a month's supply of Ribena flavoured popcorn, courtesy of Ribena. I have no memory of entering a competition but I must have done and it was really weird stuff. Other than that, no but maybe my first win put me off entering competitions again 🤣

ihoeihoeihoe · 27/08/2020 20:36

I won £300 in vouchers about two weeks after I joined Mumsnet and did a survey on here. That was about two years ago though!

Animum2 · 27/08/2020 20:39

About 5 years ago I won £2000 on the lottery, I was 1 number short of the whole lot

FallonsTeaRoom · 27/08/2020 20:45

I went through a phase of winning the competitions in the local newspaper. Things like cinema tickets, picnic basket, football match tickets, £100 to spend in Boots, Christmas tree, year’s supply of shampoo, meals out... it got embarrassing at work each Friday when it was in the paper!

£3000, (crossword competition), Large flat screen TV +sound bar and bluetooth player (crossword competition) £100 Amazon vouchers (can't remember what for) some random toys on one of those "click to win" sites.
I do a lot of competitions!!

I won the dart tournament down at our local. It was pretty well judged - before the start - that i was the worst in the troup. My opponent in the final round was a super player and was confident that he would win. I needed 50 to check out, he turned his back to go to the bar and then he heard the music and bells - I had hit the bullseye with my first of three darts. Even I couldn't believe it! (I still have the cheapy plastic trophy in my hall as a reminder of the fact that the impossible can happen)

I won a £100 Fatface voucher. I was so excited. I've never won anything else before or since

KaMai · 27/08/2020 21:08

ssd · 27/08/2020 21:09

I won a cooking set on here when I first joined, many moons ago.
Won a lovely big basket of body shop stuff at a school raffle.
Won a free facial, that was lovely.

I dream of winning money to make life easier.

OrangeLavenders · 27/08/2020 21:11

I won a few lucky dips and £2.50's on Euromillions. Can't think of anything else I've won down to pure luck...

I don't seem to be very lucky Grin

AllsortsofAwkward · 27/08/2020 21:12

Dh won a competition on a radio he had to play three times on air and won all three. We got an bose sound bar, A go pro camera and a hotel to Rome Hotel and flight included with match tickets last year.

IgiveupallthenamesIwantedareg0 · 27/08/2020 21:15

Oh, I remember now, I won a "best legs" competion when I was around 12/13 , part of a dress up party for Hallowe'en. I was dressed as Prince Charming. The organisers would probably be locked up for it now!

bearlyactive · 27/08/2020 21:15

A cafetiere in a raffle at a school fete. I was 7.
A bottle of champagne in a school tombola. I was 9.

Since then... pretty much zilch. Grin

Those who have won holidays - I wanna know, did you go! Was it good! All inclusive?

My mam won a holiday about 15 years ago on virgin radio 😁 but the dates were set and it was to lo last minute and her work said no.

LimeLemonOrange · 27/08/2020 21:16

When I was 10 I won a giant doll at a school raffle, the doll was almost as tall as me!

About eight years ago I won a Blu ray player at my DCs school raffle.

DownThePlath · 27/08/2020 21:17

DP won a £250 voucher for a well known (and popular) clothing brand

abstractzebra · 27/08/2020 21:19

I've won £1500 on the lottery but this was in its first year I think so probably getting on for 30 years ago!
More recently, I've won a lucky dip ticket about 10 times in a row and finally £30.
No luck since.
I've also won top prize in a raffle £100 and a guess the weight of a cake competition. I worked in quality control for years so guessing the weight of anything was easy for me!

Clearthinking · 27/08/2020 21:21

A supermarket sweep!!! And my cousin won 250k on lottery.

HarryLimeFoxtrot · 27/08/2020 21:22

I won a wicker hamper with a glass tea set and a selection of PG Tips fruit tea. And a £50 voucher for shops my local town centre.

My DD is so desperate to go back to school, she was starting to feel quite down before returning in June. As a teacher I'm so excited to have the children back at my school too. We all need some normality.
