AIBU to be so excited to be overweight?

Sorry for abusing AIBU but I’ve really hit a milestone today.

I’ve been losing weight for about a year and a half now after stepping on the scales at 17 and a half stone. I decided enough was enough and I needed to get really serious about losing weight. This was hampered slightly by unexpectedly falling pregnant just under a year ago. I tried to be really careful in pregnancy not to put on unnecessary weight and managed pretty well with just trying to be healthy.

Since giving birth three months ago I’ve been back on the weightloss wagon - it’s been tricky to get the balance as I’m exclusively breastfeeding so I’ve worked to find the sweet spot of calories that help me lose weight, but still give me enough not to jeopardise my supply or leave me feeling unwell.

I stood on the scales this morning to see 13 stone 8, which at my height puts me in the overweight bmi bracket rather than the obese bracket for the first time in a long time! I know I still have a long way to go and I still weigh a lot more than I should but this feels like a real milestone. Next one will be when I reach a healthy weight!

@Hiphopopotamus I've been using the Lose It app this year too and I really like it. 2 stone 4 lbs down now. I much prefer it to MFP, not sure why but it works better for me.

underneaththeash · 27/08/2020 21:00

Congratulations OP - that’s a great achievement (and you’re entitled to brag).

Just by way of a rolling update (it helps me to stay accountable if that’s ok!) I’m now down to 13st 3lbs - so that’s another 5lbs gone for good. My next mini target is to get in the next stone bracket - it’s been years since I’ve seen 12 something on the scale!
