Asks for advice, give advice, gets defensive, repeat

I find this cycle so exhausting! Whether it's friends or whoever, so tiring!

Now I just nod and agree, or give 'advice' that they want to hear.

Are they really asking for advice to begin with? My mother does this but sometimes I misinterpret her complaints about things as requests for advice, when she actually just wants to use me as a moaning receptacle.

Dm does this, asks i give ideas, she says great I'll do that then repeat a few weeks later

Yes! I think I'm being used as a moaning receptacle. Gets draining after the 10th text of the day, every day
