Healthy snack ideas

Hope it's OK posting in here.

I am trying to eat healthier without dieting. I've spent the last 15 years dieting.. It works then something happens and I put weight on again like most people who diet find.

I have cut out chocolates and normal crisps and cakes etc. Instead am eating normal food cooked from scratch and IF I snack its on yoghurt and fruit and maybe some rice cakes or similar.

After only a week I'm not craving anything at all and am enjoying not being restricted by a 'diet'. If I really wanted a bit of chocolate I will have some but try not to gorge.

Anyway what do people snack on if they have a hungry day? Today I had one of those days and coped but moving forward I need ideas and inspiration please!!

Apples with a bit peanut butter.

Carrots, cucumber, bell.peppers etc with hummus (could be low fat type) or tsatizi (so)

Tortilla/cork chips with dip as above.

Salad with grated or sliced carrot, beetroot, apple, walnuts with balsamic vinegar and olive oil.

Oatcakes (Nairn's cheese ones are ok on their own).

I eat nut bars. No idea if they are healthy but they are delicious and can’t be that calorific as they aren’t that big.

*Corn chips obviously.

Steamed peas in pod.

Sweetcorn on cob.

Popcorn with remotely healthy topping - lots of recipes online.

Also try drinking before you start snacking .. make water nicer with mint, cucumber, lemon/lime etc.

Some people roast chick peas with spices, haven't tried it yet myself.

Small handful of almonds.

Some cooked chicken or ham
Boiled eggs

Thank you. I'll give these a go!

I drink so much water but agree it is often thirst. I tell my daughter daily when she keeps asking for more food 😂

My friend dries out Kale in the oven and puts on a tiny sprinkle of salt ( you don't need much). She has this instead of crisps

Sugar free flapjacks

2/3 ripe bananas
Porridge oats (just eyeball it until the mix is firm)
Raisins
Coconut flakes

Oven for 20 minutes ish

You can add a drizzle of honey if you want them sweeter.

I make these for my kids.

Boiled eggs

Love them with mustard mayo (small amount of wholegrain mustard in mayo, suppose could be low fat mayo).

I have a sweet tooth so often look for sweeter snacks -

  • frozen grapes
  • tinned fruit
  • frozen mandarin orange segments
  • Nice cream (frozen bananas blended with coconut milk. Can add berries etc.)
  • flapjack
  • banana pancakes

Melon
Dried apricots
Frozen fruit
Reduced fat cheese
Cold meats
