Of course you're not being unreasonable - and whoever's got my ds's lovely beanie bear should also be ashamed of themselves!

YANBU
can whoever has ds lamb and his froggy please hand them in too

1dilemma · 05/10/2007 00:01

(good name for a t-rex)

Dragonhart · 05/10/2007 16:40

Isnt there a website where people say if they have got a lost toy?

OP posts:
OrmIrian · 05/10/2007 16:42

Ah but how do you know someone pocketed it? It might have walked off on it's own... Daddy dinosaurs have a low boredom threshold.

binkleandflip · 05/10/2007 16:44

Yes how do you know it has been nicked? It might be behind the wallpaper samples.....

My dd's cycle helmet was taken off her bike at Centre Parcs - I was fuming!!

KTeePee · 05/10/2007 16:47

What i have found is that people pick things up and instead of handing them into lost property, etc, put them on a shelf or something.... you are wandering around, looking on the floor and don't notice that some "helpful" person has put it where you would never think of looking

Lovecat · 05/10/2007 18:52

YANBU

Could the thieving barstewards of Ilford please give me back all my dd's hats, please?

In the last 2 years there must be at least twenty she's chucked and when I've realised & gone back (in under 5 mins, usually) they've gone...

ipodtherforipoor · 05/10/2007 19:01

DS lost his murdch train in the library - and the next day it was gone....until 3 weeks later y mum takes him in to choose books and he starts chanting mur-doc, murdoc - librarian and my mum explain he is lost
...ten minutes later G appeares with murdoch in his had and triumphantly shout MURDOCH!! at the top of his voice! They tried to get him to show them where he had found him but G had by then forgotten it had been lost!

Chirpyghoul · 05/10/2007 19:17

DD dropped her little pink teddy in tesco, I didn't realise until we got home so I called them and they said they had it (including dirty patch so I knew it was hers) and would keep it at customer services.
I go in the next day and someone ELSE had collected it!

So can they give it back please? cheeky bastards.

OrmIrian · 05/10/2007 19:39

I've lost count of the number of toys my DCs have lost over the last 10 years. The loss fades with time. But one that still rankles was an octopus with noisy things in it's arms and different textures all over it, that a friend of mine from uni gave DS#1 when he was born. He loved that thing and we dropped it on the canal path on the way home from the CM when he was about a yr old. We spent ages combing the area for it. I've learned better now

ScottishMummy · 05/10/2007 19:47

shameless, stealing a wee one toy- shocker is your son okay?

glaskham · 05/10/2007 20:04

we've lost countless hats between both ds1 and dd2.....i'm so upset when they do as i always get funky cute ones that match their outfits and coats, so they aren't cheap!!! lost a smart rockport boot of ds1's that had only just been put on brand new that very morning....and it disapeared within 5mins- i mean seriously- who wants to pinch an odd shoe????

also left a brand new scooby doo teddy in a baby change room went back and the woman who'd gone in after me must have swiped it!!! i got there just as she was coming out!!! didn't think to look in her pram!!! by time i'd searched inside the room and come out she'd gone!!!

bubblagirl · 05/10/2007 20:20

it may be under a unit knocked when people getting stuff try again in a few days as it could be uncovered by cleaners

What happens to all those odd socks that get pulled off ds feet? They get naffled by someone every time, seconds it takes them, then they're away!

Dragonhart · 07/10/2007 21:11

I have to say, I dont normally let him take toys and like you keep them in the car/house/bed Calfright, but on the day we went to b&q, I was just avoiding the tantrum as I was in a rush!

Typical though. I have left my name with them so if it is uncovered they will ring me. I lost dd's leather shoe in Asda recently and they rang me to tell me they had found it.

at someone else collecting it though chirpy!!

OP posts:
Dragonhart · 07/10/2007 21:12

Oh and I loose enough socks just in the washer/house let alone out!

OP posts:
MerlinsBeard · 07/10/2007 21:14

if its my local B&Q it will still be there in a week. i am nt sure its ever cleaned

collision · 07/10/2007 21:14

and the expensive £8 elephant we had just bought from ELC that was left by the water play at Legoland.......

can we have that back please? We only left for a minute!!!!

Gits!!! Ds was devastated but I got him a new one (reduced to £2!!) and now we never take toys out of the house!
