I’m cooking a roast chicken and covered it with M&S thin cut smoked streaky bacon. Whilst checking said chicken halfway through cooking, the bacon was cooked to perfection. I realise at the point I should have covered the chicken with tin foil. What I actually did was pour a glass of red, decant the bacon from the chicken and disposed of it into my mouth. I’ve now re-covered the chicken with the remainder of the bacon and no one is none the wiser (apart from my beady-eye hound). Can’t work out if I’m just a greedy bastard or a genius for discovering a chef snack mid prep
