To be worried

My dh travels by air to attend work (he works on a ship) he has to in order to do his job and because my his job is essential he is exempt from quarantining.

I am a teacher so obviously I am going back to school soon. Aibu to be worried that even though he is exempt that it is highly possible that he could bring home the virus and therefore I could bring It to school...I don't really have a choice to be honest but I feel a bit uneasy.

I don’t think YABU to be worried, but I’m not sure what you can do about it really other than be really vigilant of symptoms.

DH works in an airport... So... he's at more risk! As are thousands of others in the travel sector.

ifunouno · 22/08/2020 21:16

@GreyWall yeah I know, it's the bringing it to school part that I'm worried about

Op he could be a GP working in your local town, or a shelf stacker in a busy supermarket. Lots and lots of jobs have an increased risk of bringing it home

cardibach · 22/08/2020 21:18

Well, you bringing it to school would be less of an issue if they weren’t being so fucking stupid about opening schools without distancing or PPE, so I wouldn’t worry. It’s not your fault, it’s the government’s.

ChickensMightFly · 22/08/2020 22:04

All we can do is control the risks where we can, nobody can eliminate all risk. Some situations just are what they are and we are just had we have an NHS for those times when all the precautions possible still don't prevent every case

cardibach · 23/08/2020 13:45

We are asking to be allowed to control the risks. Government says no.
