Media blackout on marches happening today

orangesnapples · 22/08/2020 15:23

Is it me or is it not very strange that 1000s of people currently marching though our major cities today and no media coverage?

They are marching for our children's rights, to awareness to trafficking etc

Does the lack of coverage just play into the hands of those that accuse the media of being part of the problem.

They are currently peacefully marching to bring awareness because there sadly is hardly any awareness of trafficking, most people have the completely strep typical idea of what trafficking is, that is all some world wide elite club.
But the sad truth it looks very different, and is probably happening in a home near you right now.

So why no coverage. My SM is flooded with 1000s I f people walking the streets of Liverpool, London etc.

I don't want to believe there is darkness in control of our media and what we see etc but honestly I can't think for the life of me why this isn't being covered.

British child slavery is an area I work in, as a foster carer and as a school integration manager. But I agree these demonstration are nothing to bother about reporting. Not newsworthy and not relevant.

canigooutyet · 22/08/2020 17:39

I'm sure @Clive222 can back up their claims.
I've posted several links to back up what he is saying.

Any of those who don't believe the UK has a problem, where is your backup from credible sources?

BonfireStarter · 22/08/2020 17:40

BBC employed Jimmy Saville for years, I don't think they are concerned about anti paedophile marches.

CrocodilesCry · 22/08/2020 17:40

Not only are they alt-right, they can't read or comprehend either.

Never said it didn’t. Child sex slaves are a very real thing. But QAnon aren’t doing shit.
Boiing · 22/08/2020 17:40

I find the media - particularly the BBC - really weird this year. A lot of it reads like propaganda and they are obviously strongly guided on what to write about. Look at the coverage of anything that mentions the word trans for example.

And when the government wanted us to stay inside there were loads of "I can't believe how wonderful it is to work from home" and "step outside and you might die" type articles, now that the government wants coffee shops etc to pay more taxes again the media is all "Working from home is bad for your mental health" and "covid is mild for most people" etc etc I find it very weird.

Where is the actual NEWS???

bingbong1970 · 22/08/2020 17:41

@Clive222

its not white British people in general

Wrong again. Many hundreds of white British are trafficked as slave labour in the sex and drugs trades.

I am getting increasingly concerned about the ignorance shown on this thread

Don't get too concerned. It's just people who don't need to trouble themselves with any facts, or other peoples opinions when they know it all already and are just so right all the time.
ktp100 · 22/08/2020 17:42

Not awfully responsible to give media attention to crowds gathering during a pandemic.

From what I've seen online, today's march's appear to have attended by quite a lot of rather aggressive looking Tommy Robinson lovers and general thickos who are eagerly looking for trouble.

Also, everyone knows what child trafficking is and if not can look at reputable charities online for factual information. Best not to get it from this lot of conspiracy theory loving low life!

QueenOfPain · 22/08/2020 17:43

There’s demos in Nottingham today, a BLM one, and some other non-descript thing to do with “veterans and their children” and “raising awareness” - the latter of which seems to mean a lot of the usual gammon faced Tommy Robinson Acolytes turning up with swastika banners and “God Bless Donald Trump” signs.

roarfeckingroarr · 22/08/2020 17:45

There doesn't look like many people in these photos. I haven't heard anything about this. Is it organised by a reputable group?

PhilSwagielka · 22/08/2020 17:47

Let me guess. You’re QAnon.

bingbong1970 · 22/08/2020 17:47

"A lot of them are antisemitic and blame Jews for everything".

There's no need to bring the Labour Party into it.

JanMeyer · 22/08/2020 17:48

I’ll disagree all I like. I am giving you facts. You have not backed up anything you say at all.

You haven't backed up your claims either, so it's a bit rich for you to accuse other people of that.

QueenOfPain · 22/08/2020 17:48

@chomalungma It’s deffo nottingham, outside The Alchemist, on speakers corner.

If you call a FB group that isn't public reputable then yes.

If you call a group that has no info about what they do, who they are, figures, facts or well anything, then yes.

PhilSwagielka · 22/08/2020 17:50

What if I told you that right-wing anti Semitism is also a real thing? Funny how Mumsnet always carps on about Labour but nobody ever gives a shit when it’s Generation Identity and the Patriotic Alternative and all those other Nazi twats plotting to shoot up synagogues.
ktp100 · 22/08/2020 17:51

Can't find any information on line about Save Our Children UK, which makes me wonder who is organising the protests

I've only seen shares on Facebook, mostly on football pages by typical gammony racists who are allergic to grammar.

It's word salad central out there.

PhilSwagielka · 22/08/2020 17:52

Evidently Bingbong seems to be one of them, judging by how defensive she’s getting.

Gancanny · 22/08/2020 17:54

Being anti vaccination is alt right is it

It is when it's related to alt-right theories relating to things like autism, microchips, and population control.

Collaborate · 22/08/2020 17:57

This is giving credence to far right conspiracy theories as if they are legitimate demonstrations rather than racists trotting out the usual anti-immigrant rhetoric.

Shame on OP for peddling it. Shame on anyone else for supporting fascists and thugs.

GoldenOmber · 22/08/2020 17:58

If you really want to 'raise awareness' it helps to have factual, accessible information on what the problem is and what people can do about it.

"Here's a photo of some people holding up a 'God Bless Donald Trump!' banner and a link to our private Facebook page of 80 people, why won't the MSM cover our protests?" - gosh, can't imagine.

PhilSwagielka · 22/08/2020 17:58

One of the organisers has been threatening opponents with violence and inviting all sorts of nasty far right groups. And I mean far right. Not Tories or moderate conservatives, these are dangerous people.

PhilSwagielka · 22/08/2020 17:59

Trump us hardly the poster boy for protecting children.

Nanny0gg · 22/08/2020 18:07

The people sharing it on my SM are definitely conspiracy theorists, anti-vaxxers and are slightly in favour of Trump.

I'm not sure what they are hoping to achieve.

ktp100 · 22/08/2020 18:10

the spelling of 'pedos' is American - and 'antifa' - in Nottingham

These people are thick as pig shit, they probably can't spell their own names.

Pure QAnon bollox.
