Media blackout on marches happening today

orangesnapples · 22/08/2020 15:23

Is it me or is it not very strange that 1000s of people currently marching though our major cities today and no media coverage?

They are marching for our children's rights, to awareness to trafficking etc

Does the lack of coverage just play into the hands of those that accuse the media of being part of the problem.

They are currently peacefully marching to bring awareness because there sadly is hardly any awareness of trafficking, most people have the completely strep typical idea of what trafficking is, that is all some world wide elite club.
But the sad truth it looks very different, and is probably happening in a home near you right now.

So why no coverage. My SM is flooded with 1000s I f people walking the streets of Liverpool, London etc.

I don't want to believe there is darkness in control of our media and what we see etc but honestly I can't think for the life of me why this isn't being covered.

The BBC have become the Government propaganda dept. Lost ALL respect for this organisation!

user1468867871 · 24/08/2020 21:37

Look what Denise Welch is saying on Twitter. She knows something is wrong and she’s no conspiracy theorist

scabbles · 24/08/2020 21:47

The cover ups are what make people question the mainstream narrative.

If the BBC can coverup Saville and others horrendous abuse for decades and MP's can be given peerages after running councils involved in covering up child sexual abuse in Islington then what else could be covered up.

You can understand where the conspiracy theories start to be fair.

user1468867871 · 24/08/2020 21:57

Look at Jim Corr on Twitter (The Corrs)

@user1468867871

Do you get all your information from minor celebrities on Twitter?

PhilSwagielka · 24/08/2020 22:46

@nicky7654

Child trafficking/grooming is vile and thousands of our Children have been abused by these Organisations. Yes the media purposely covers up Real News or fabricates it for their own purpose. Why? No idea but they should be ashamed and so should the Police/Social Services/Council's who have for years been aware of it but failed to take action. If a March was near me I would happily attend as I am getting so ashamed of this once wonderful Country!!
Which organisations?

And FFS, Jim Corr is a nutjob, he is not a reliable source. Lots of famous people buy into conspiracy bullshit. Why should I care what Denise Welch thinks?

boltzmannbrains · 24/08/2020 22:54

Jim Corr is a major conspiracy theorist and anti-masker who believes that COVID is a hoax.

The protestors and people marching don’t give a shit about trafficked children (seeing as how they worship Trump, personally responsible for harming more vulnerable children than anyone). They are far right wing extremists with direct ties to terrorist and Nazi organisations, who are exploiting child trafficking as a Trojan horse to hide their less palatable beliefs and agenda.

If they genuinely cared about trafficked children they’d be lobbying for better care for migrant children, and stronger action on modern slavery and the companies and wealthy people who benefit from slave labour.

It’s very telling that the protestors avoid anything that might actually help trafficked children.

JanMeyer · 24/08/2020 23:01

When was this country "wonderful" exactly? Do you know anything about British history? Yeah, it ain't so wonderful the past. Plenty of child abuse in that "wonderful" Britain of the past too, it's hardly a modern phenomena.

Look what Denise Welch is saying on Twitter. She knows something is wrong and she’s no conspiracy theorist.

LOL 😅😅😅😅😅 The actress? And she's qualified to discuss such things how exactly? She might not be a conspiracy theorist but she's not an expert on child trafficking either for fucks sake. Jesus christ, no wonder people believe in this crap if you believe anything some minor celebrity says on twitter.

longwayoff · 24/08/2020 23:06

Denise Welch? GrinGrinGrin. She's a journalist now? Stick to the day job Denise.

user1468867871 · 24/08/2020 23:16

Denise has not mentioned child trafficking.

DioneTheDiabolist · 24/08/2020 23:17

Take a look at Denise Welch on Twitter - she knows something is wrong - she’s not a flat earther

Congratulations @user1468867871. You win the internet today.🤣🤣🤣

Look at Jim Corr on Twitter (The Corrs)

Jim Corr who was absolutely savaged by Jedward a few days ago for his anti-mask conspiracy theory bullshit. It really says something about whackadoodle you actually are when bloody Jedward become the voice(s) of reason.

rvby · 24/08/2020 23:41

There's some really good discourse on this thread, interspersed with comedy gold.

Lordy what a time to be alive. The internet is an object lesson in failures of the education system / how the average person may not have the cognitive ability to grasp the nuances of the world around them.

boltzmannbrains · 24/08/2020 23:54

I had a brief look at Denise Welch’s Twitter just now. She’s not a conspiracy theorist exactly but is extremely anti-lockdown and has lots of tweets expressing skepticism that COVID is as dangerous as “MSM” claims.

She’s never tweeted about trafficking but is/was a
supporter of A21.org which is a legitimate global non-profit dedicated to ending modern slavery. Their website is full of sensible fact-based information about the realities of modern slavery and the different forms of trafficking, and is a million miles away from the fervent wet dreams of the pizzagate Trumpsters. She also slammed Prince Andrew over his friendship with Epstein.

Her comments about Andrew and her stance on COVID/lockdown appear to have made her a target for far right wing conspiracy theorists, who bombard her with tweets ranting about Hilary Clinton barbecuing babies and stuff.

She hasn’t tweeted about trafficking and ignores the above tweets, so not sure why pp have dragged her name into things.

boltzmannbrains · 24/08/2020 23:55

(That was based on a 30 second Twitter search. Not claiming to be an expert on Denise Welch!)

Stripesgalore · 25/08/2020 00:12

I wonder if the OP is ever coming back and what she thinks of the response she’s got.

PhilSwagielka · 25/08/2020 09:05

My respect for Jedward has gone right up.

Also, why do these people always say ‘our children’? Like their kids are going to be trafficked.

knittingaddict · 25/08/2020 09:14

For anyone wanting to know more about QAnon I really recommend the QAnon anonymous podcast ( an anti QAnon podcast)

The podcast reports on QAnon and other conspiracy theories, explaining why they are incorrect and why and how they are radicalising quite disparate groups.

I love that podcast Stripesgalore. It's one of the few that I pay through Patreon to hear their bonus content. I don't love all their episodes, but it's fascinating most of the time. I'm amazed that since I started listening that Qanon has become a thing over here too. It scares me that people can be so vulnerable to this kind of misinformation.

knittingaddict · 25/08/2020 09:29

Take a look at Denise Welch on Twitter - she knows something is wrong - she’s not a flat earther

The actress Denise Welch? The actress specifically qualified to tell whether "something is wrong"? Well thanks for that, I'm now totally convinced that "something is wrong". Hmm

knittingaddict · 25/08/2020 09:36

boltzmannbrains I agree with everything that you've said on here.

The last thing we need now is some kind of Satanic Panic rerun. I'm a Christian, but we do a disservice to abused children if we look to Pagans and Satanic cults for out abusers. Let's look where they really are - in our streets and homes.

Lolling. You need to get your own commentary programme like the guy who made black mirror (my memory escapes me rn but he's married to Connie huq and does a new year thing) You could make a fortune
