My husband thinks I'm strange because pickled onions make me think of Christmas. I don't know why, they always have

I experience similar. Not objects but memories. Whenever I straighten my hair I always think of the time I was a teenager doing my paper round, and when I brush/style my hair I was always think of a business trip to a supplier I once took a few years ago

I have no idea why 🤷‍♀️

Whenever I do my Duolingo Welsh lesson, I always think of a particular friend. She is not Welsh.

The smell of tea leaves makes me think of my grandparents house in the 70s. They had a red loose leaf tea caddy / dispenser and my grandad would let me push the button when he made a pot.

Tins of red salmon make me think of our 'posh' Saturday tea when they'd come round and we'd have tinned red salmon salad with brown bread, buttered and cut diagonally.
