Gastroscopy isn't so bad, but I went with the sedation option and had a wonderful snooze. I have very hazy recollections of some discomfort, and had a sore throat the following day.

When they did the throat spray there was a really weird artificial banana taste. Apparently not everyone can taste it, see if you do.

I was given an update on what had been found immediately following my gastroscopy. Have you ever had one before? Perhaps it depends on the hospital.
The procedure isn't particularly pleasant you just need to try and relax. It's all seemed to be over very quickly for me. I have had three now. Best with sedation. You are not asleep just spaced out.
I suffered terribly with reflux and indigestion. Best thing I ever did was give up all coffee and tea. Anything with caffeine. Also alcohol. Chocolate. Raw onions, tomatoes. I rarely suffer now and if I do Gaviscon sorts it out.

Oh yes good luck for later. The anticipation is worse that the actual procedure. The main thing is to try and relax and breathe. Flowers

I do, too. I don't drink alcohol and don't care for sweets, but I take medication because I'm not giving up alcohol or tomatoes.

Sorry it was awful, It's over at least. Did you have sedation?
Did they talk to you afterwards?
I hope you can have a nice evening and put it behind you. Flowers

Ice cold water alleviates it a little. I don't find dairy helps me
