Title says it all really, why on earth do people let their dogs run onto my garden and piss on my roses, its stopping them from blooming!
If you are someone who has a dog and lets them walk onto peoples gardens and urinate, WHY do you do it?
WHY do you let them walk onto them AT ALL?

That's grim. They should wee on public grass ... but that's still grim 🤢. Can you put a little chain fence around your grass or start a little box hedge to define the boundary?

makingmammaries · 20/08/2020 15:25

I think it’s out of order, but how would it stop roses blooming?

LolaSmiles · 20/08/2020 15:26

Because they're thoughtless people and irresponsible owners.

honeygirlz · 20/08/2020 15:30

Same reason why our pavements have dog shit on them - some owners just don't care how they affect others.

There's special place in hell for those who let their dogs shit in longish grass verges and then don't pick it up, meaning some poor sod steps in it when crossing the verge.

You need to see if you can put a little barrier to make it clear it is not public land plus a few keep you dog of the grass signs.

Lots of people near me have to do that.

LST · 20/08/2020 15:49

Because some people are inconsiderate arses. If mine goes to wee up someone's garden I pull him off

AiryFairyArtyFarty · 20/08/2020 15:51

Because some people are wankers

AfterSchoolWorry · 20/08/2020 15:53

Could you put up a fence at all?

Is it clear it's someone's garden? Do you have a wall or hedge there?

When I was first going out with my now DH his (mum's) house was without any fences, just like the rest of the housing association street. At around 10pm most nights I'd be in his room having a fag out of his window and I'd watch a bloke walk his dog and let it do its business on DH's parent's lawn. Pissed me right off. I shouted at him eventually and it never happened again while I was there but but did when I wasn't at the window. I just thought, WTF? How could anyone think that's okay? Someone's garden isn't just a patch of public land grass!

The HA ended up fencing the street. Just a few posts and a single horizontal plank and it worked. Gardens were marked and dogs couldn't just wander on.

Yes its clear its my garden, there is public grassland which runs opposite to my house, so I have no idea why they think to let their dogs onto my grass.
There was a lady today who had both dogs off lead running around my front garden weeing on my roses, i was so shocked with her behaviour, I really regret not speaking up at the time to tell her that it wasnt on.
I am new to where I live so I dont want to create any sort of friction with people.
She proceeded to let her dog walk all up peoples drive ways and gardens weeing everywhere. Confused

Time to put up a pretty little fence. Prices are reasonable and it'll discourage her dog from going in your garden. Then if she allows her dog to run down your drive (if you have one) and go into your garden that way then it would be more than reasonable to politely say, "Excuse me, can you get your dog please?!"
Hell, you should say that anyway. Fence or not but you say you're new and want to keep the peace.

A physical boundary should do the trick.
