Racist and intimidating neighbour - what can I do?

Posting on here for traffic.

I have a neighbour who racially abused a workman who was doing a job for me - a simple job outside my front door in the afternoon. Neighbour’s behaviour was very threatening. The police gave him a caution. Since then his behaviour improved but he’s starting to play up again - pressing his face up against his glass door when I leave my property, and yells things through the door at me. I am a young woman who lives on her own and I am extremely intimidated. I fear his behaviour is going to escalate. He has been harassing other neighbours as well.

What can I do? He is a tenant who lives in the block, while I have a share in the freehold.

If you feel he is initimidating you then call the police. Or if he is there a tennents assocciation who could help?

I feel like I’m stating the obvious but have you considered contact the police again?

Keep a diary. Log every single incident, date, time, what happened and what was said. Report to the police, tenants association and the neighbours landlord. Have a word with the other neighbours he’s harassing, a complaint may have more weight if you can produce evidence from multiple people.

Who owns his property? For ordinary annoying neighbour behaviour I would not suggest going to the landlord but harassment and racism is a different level.

You should diaries everything.

Police - and report him to the housing association he's a tenant of or the owner if it's a private let.

I would get cctv installed, as well as a security system. Record and document him every chance you get and keep in contact with the police. Don't respond or interact with him in any way.

Maybe a ring doorbell? And definitely log everything with the police and in a diary or on your phone. Record him if you’re in your property even just audio.

What a bully I’m so sorry you’re having to deal with this but keep calm and strong

Keep a diary as others have said and email to 101 on each occasion. If he is harassing others then he might need an ASBO so get together with others and contact your LA also.
