If you found yourself single at age 40 where did you meet your new partner??

Almost 40 and newly single. Two DC. No rush to meet someone new but would like to further down the road - options for meeting someone anywhere other than OLD seem narrow! (OLD seems a minefield tho I'm sure there are some lovely men on there)

Where did you all meet your new partners?! Gym? Via friends?

Three of my friends ended up single in their early forties. Two met their new husbands online but playing games on FB and one met her DH OLD. I see two amongst those three new partners as absolute cocklodgers. My sister met her new partner at a poetry group.

@Valkadin OLD seems horrifying!! I've heard of people meeting their future partners through it but how do you filter out all the chancers/not really interested ones??!!

I met my boyfriend on Tinder when I was 40 (3 years ago now). Best partner I've ever had! There are tons of shits and twats on OLD but it's easy enough to filter them out - you just chat to them! I have to say, I went on there with the intention of just going on dates, meeting people, getting out, I wasn't looking for anything serious, I just happened to find the perfect person for me.

Single at 41 I met my now dh in a wine bar. He was 31..
Been together nearly 8 years.
Married with a dc.
I already had dc but he didn't.

I have been single for 4 years, have 4 dc. I have dipped my toe in OLD, but quickly realised its not for me. I think it is harder post 40
