To be able to go to bed without STBX blaring the fucking tv down stairs

Honestly I could scream.

There isn’t a door way from the living room to upstairs and my room is directly over the living room. When I come up to bed he puts old football matches on and I get a fucking commentary with crowd cheering the whole match it’s hideous!

Every night I ask him to turn it down. It’s really loud tonight and I’ve asked and he turned it right down and said snippy ‘that food enough for you’ so I walked back up stairs.

It’s back up to where it was.

Sounds like I’m in a pub. Ridiculous!

Tomorrow when he isn't around, cut the plug and cable off the tv - right at where it goes into the tv itself. I do realise that this means that you too won't be able to watch it, but at least you'll get some sleep. .....or hide the remote.

Take the fuse out of the plug. Less drastic, same effect.

When does he go to bed Confused

Do you have to get up in the morning ?

D4rwin · 18/08/2020 22:11

Take the remote to bed.
Get him a hearing aid catalogue.

Find your fusebox

Job done

mrsbyers · 18/08/2020 22:36

Just buy some earplugs

I called him upstairs in the end to listen to the noise level but I know he turned it down before he come up.

He then went back down turned the tv and went to bed.

He is up early for the gym but I feel like I have no time in the day for quiet. The kids go bed and the the fucking football starts.

I’m going to put ear phones in tomorrow night if it starts again. I wouldn’t mind but they are old matches and he sits playing his phone so it’s just back ground noise for him!

It’s like living with a difficult house mate.
