Well I know I'm being a bit unreasonable but I've decided to do it! I'm leaving husband at home with kids 2 and 9 months. How can I make the most of this night away?

Books, bubble bath, face mask, gin or champagne and dancing boys.

Film, takeaway. Enjoy!

Ok lovely!

Pick one with a pool and a full English.

Take prosecco and a bathbomb.

Absolutely do it! I did this last year, just a travel lodge down the road. XH had booked it for himself when he came to visit the DCs, but I knew that meant I’d end up cooking for him too and not get a break at all, so I told him he was staying at my house with the DCs and I was having his hotel room! Didn’t invite DP over to share it either, just me lounging about, went for a haircut, went out for dinner with DP then waved him off and had a luxurious nights sleep all to myself Grin. I recently accompanied DP on a business trip too, and got to spend a day swimming, sunbathing, having a massage etc while he worked. Bliss.

Decent bubble bath. I hate getting to a nice hotel with a bath to find there’s no bubbles to put in it

MuppetBabi · 18/08/2020 16:50

I really want to do this!!

I love a Travellodge, and about once or twice a year I look for the cheapest one nearest to me for a night. Picnic tea, nice crisps, chocolate, books, face mask, nice bubble bath. Just not being available to do housework and stuff is a luxury.
