There is nothing I don't like eating

I literally would eat anything that I was given and it just wouldn't bother me - apart from extreme foods like insects or unusual animals

Am I really unusual or do many other people have no strong feelings about food?

maybe there is something wrong with me and my tastebuds? Most people seem to hate a certain vegetable or a certain meal...

@CardsforKittens

My son is like that. He used to ask for broccoli for dinner when he was barely talking (I never met a baby who loved broccoli before). He eats things that make me shudder, like baby octopus. He once said he thought artichoke was a bit over-rated, which is probably the most negative thing he’s ever said about food. Meanwhile, my daughter only eats beige food: pasta, chicken, chips, bread etc. It’s so weird because I’m sure I brought them up the same way.
I love that, overrated artichoke. Please tell me he's 10 or similar

I like more food than likes me.

I used to love cheese, particularly strong cheeses. Can't eat them any more. I can eat tiny amounts without puking but you really need to open a window.

Ditto chocolate. I still play russian roulette with that, if it's nice enough chocolate but unless I stick to a very few pieces and avoid the dark stuff I feel groggy, at best.

For the eat anything types, Does stuff taste different to you?

There’s a few things I don’t like the taste of, so would avoid, but not many that I actively hate. Blue cheese makes me gag. I’d go without food for a day rather than eat that.

I’m pescatarian and eat pretty much anything apart from meat. I’m not keen on a lot of veggie meat substitutes but would eat them just not choose to iyswim. The only think I’ve never eaten is cottage cheese. It’s the look of it but then again I did do a placement in an STD clinic as a student.......Grin

Even the foods I don't really enjoy, I can eat without issue, I'd rather not and would never choose them, but sometimes its required to be polite.
There's currently a thread about birthday cake, the jam and buttercream type.
Not keen on it at all, I'd happily take a small slice and do a great job of pretending to enjoy it.

My DH is like this. There are things he’s not mad about, but he will quite literally eat anything if he’s hungry or if it’s given to him. No food phobias or things that turn his stomach etc. He’s the ideal guest, as he will happily chow down on whatever is on the menu, and whenever we travel he will eat whatever the local delicacy is, from snails to locusts to horse 🤢

I’m a bit jealous, tbh. I have always been extremely finicky about meat. I don’t like most red meat; lamb and offal turn my stomach, I don’t think I could put it in my mouth let alone swallow. Same with goats cheese, creamy sauces like bechamel or cheese sauce, mushrooms, bony or ‘fishy’ fish. I retch at certain food smells. It can be awkward at other people’s houses.
