So around 2007 I had a fall in a shop slipped on some water and straight down on my knee I have had xrays and MRI scan the MRI scan came back as nothing found. Was at my gp today as I had a bad flare up of knee pain to be told that they did find something on my mri all them years ago but weren't completely satisfied with it. So why did they tell me they found nothing if it had off been treated I wouldnt be in pain now. What can I do about this

You need to know what they found really.
You need to know if what was found was degenerative or likely to be caused by the fall and if there was any possible treatment for it. You also need to find out what ‘weren't completely satisfied with it‘ means i.e in what way? Would further investigation have been helpful?

Write and request a copy of the MRI report & an and explanation of the findings. However, you need to be prepared that they may say that it’s very possible that your knee-13 year’s later-could have become painful despite the accident.

When you ask what can I do about this, is it that you are wanting to claim medical negligence?

@Blankblankblank I have had knee problems from the day I had the fall. I only found out about the mri results because the doctor I spoke to on the phone had asked if Ibhad ever had xrays or scans then when I went to the appointment today thats when she told me that after looking back at it that they did find some that she would say was serve ligament damage. It's very frustrating because of I have never been able to go and play football with my kids or even take nice walks in a forest and all this might never have happened if it had of been treated at the very start
