To ask about the age range on access course

I’m thinking about re training to go into social work. I know these an access course in my local college for social work. I’ve also seen online courses. I wouldn’t feel comfortable if all the people there are in their 20’s will this be the case? If so I will just stick to the online one.

I was early 30s when I did my access course. There was a range of ages from 19 to late 50s with the majority being older.

I qualified as a social worker 2 years ago at 51 which made me 47 when I did my access course! Yes I was the oldest and apart from being thought of as the lecturer on several occasions it was really not bad!

I teach on access courses, there’s a huge age range & the younger students have a lot to learn from the older ones - it makes for a nice balance.

People who came on to my uni course from an access were in their 20s, 30s and 40s.

I would imagine Social Work courses attract more mature students as they ideally need prior work experience. A lot of the course will be spent on placements in social work environments with all ages.

On my access course we had teenagers to 50 somethings and every age in between.

Thank looks like a wide range of ages
