(Lightheartedish) in the last 10 days

-2 toddler beds broken and replaced
-Dropped phone down the toilet
-Fridge and freezer both broken for the last 7 days
-Consequently become very anaemic from eating tinned and long life food and have 37 bruises on legs and feel ill
-Husband failed to tell me sink was blocked so when cleaning defrosted fridge and freezer had to unblock the sink by taking out the u bend and got splashed by all of the smelly fridge water in the face/hair

Now sitting in the bath contemplating going to bed and getting up for the 1st of September aibu?

Bad things usually come in threes but sounds like your having a worse time than that just now.
I've had times like this and it feels relentless. Only way I could deal with it was to write a list of what needed doing and tackling one job or problem at a time ( or ringing someone who could fix it for me if it was something I couldn't sort out on my own)
Things will get done , then you'll have a few months when it goes nice and quite and nothing goes wrong.
The phone is a pain and I doubt that will dry out well as ds2 tried everything to dry his old one out and nothing worked , even putting it in rice! He Ended up buying a new one and never taking it in the bathroom ever again!

Just tried to move all of my cleaning stuff and my vacuum cleaner fell and broke in half Sad you couldn't write it

you need a famous mn spa day and go to stay in a naice hotel while dh sorts it all out, Grin.
seriously though what a totally rubbish time for you as a family. look at this way the universe has dished this out so now something good HAS to be round the corner. Smile

alwaystired234 · 17/08/2020 12:03

@romeolovedjulliet god even a premier inn would feel like a week in a 5* hotel. Knowing my luck its catch on fire the second I walked in Grin

The large wall clock I had ordered just turned up. It's barely 30cm and made of cardboard. Any bets on what happens next Grin

Did you know it was cardboard when you ordered it?
That's the problem with the internet you can't see what things are really like.
It's so good in many ways , but bad for other things.

Galaxycat · 17/08/2020 13:55

@alwaystired234 sounds like you’re having a bad time! But..

“ Consequently become very anaemic from eating tinned and long life food and have 37 bruises on legs and feel ill”

You’ve become very anaemic in 7 days from eating tinned and long life food? That doesn’t sound right!?

alwaystired234 · 17/08/2020 14:05

Hi @Galaxycat I've always been just above the line of being unwell from anaemia and usually short bouts of illness or bad diet tips it over and gives symptoms of lethargy and excessive bruising which has been confirmed by gp and midwife when pregnant with dc

Its tough going through a period like this. You have to remember it's just the ups and downs of life. The current world situation has made it harder to cope with stuff though.

Get a refund on your clock and try the Wilko website. They have some non cardboardy clocks.

alwaystired234 · 17/08/2020 14:34

@The80sweregreat I didn't at the time but looking back it does state in small print. I think I just got a bit trigger happy with Amazon prime haha

OP posts:
The80sweregreat · 17/08/2020 14:51

You have to be so careful with Amazon orders! I clicked to buy one thing , not seeing the other item in pending that I didn't want , was automatically added by them.
By the time I realized it was too late to delete the item! I've kept it , but it's all done to trick people I'm sure.
I hope things pick up for you op. I had a run of bad luck a while ago : white goods packed up on me, loo chain broke something else went wrong ; it seemed it be one thing after the other. Life can get you that way at times even though it's all fixable. Just hassle you can do without or costs money you don't have at the time.

alwaystired234 · 18/08/2020 07:00

Just been woken up by what sounds like scuttling from one side of the attic to the other. Heard it once which woke me up then once again when listening out and it stopped once I sat up in bed. Sad

Squirrels OP?! Blasted things!! 😟

I think with your run of bad luck you are surely due some good! Buy yourself a lottery card today - you never know "It could be you!!" 🤗

alwaystired234 · 18/08/2020 07:18

@Happynow001 oh I really hope not. I wouldn't even know where to start with them but it might make sense since it was early in the morning as opposed to at night. Going to pick up a couple of humane traps and hopefully it'll be one poor little mouse who's found his way in the attic. Knowing my luck right now it's a combination of mice, rats, squirrels and birds all having a disco Grin

I’m not sure going to sleep in your bed is safe.... you might fall out.

Maybe order yourself a zor to use as a protective bubble.

Didicat · 18/08/2020 07:19

Zorb not zor...

alwaystired234 · 18/08/2020 07:30

@didicat I think I'm going to pick up a ouija board and apologise to whatever demonic energy I seem to have pissed off Grin

Okay I am genuinely a little bit concerned that I have a poltergeist. After picking up my toddler from nursery I let him open the front door after I had turned the key. I had taken a step back and just before he opened the door. I was aggressively splashed by around 2 cups worth of water in my face and t shirt.. it was like someone swilled me it was so aggressive and came down so fast it even went into my open eye. It hasn't rained today and I was a good couple of steps away from the door. The photo is of the water that didn't hit me, maybe 2/3 times more did. What on earth could it have been?

Very odd.

EarringsandLipstick · 18/08/2020 18:45

@alwaystired234

Hmm 🤨 slightly strange thread...

In relation to anaemia, this makes no sense. You can't be this badly affected because you ate tinned food for 10 days.

Even if you have low iron levels, this level of extreme dysfunction can't happen so quickly.
You'd want to have been haemorrhaging it something!

Regarding generally low iron, take daily iron tablets; anaemia usually relates to low ferritin (iron stores) which you need to build up.

alwaystired234 · 18/08/2020 19:00

@EarringsandLipstick you could be correct, I just assumed that it was connected as on the 3rd day of my fridge being broken and having an abysmal diet I woke up to lots of bruises on my legs. I have taken iron tablets in the past but usually eat lots of fresh fruit/veg and don’t feel lethargic or bruise unless I am having a down spell or during my period I find I bruise a lot.

OP posts:
EarringsandLipstick · 18/08/2020 19:03

God @alwaystired234 you need to get that checked. It's in no way normal & sounds like you are always anaemic not just now.

Good luck with the rest of the stuff which all sounded a bit odd so I didn't comment.

alwaystired234 · 18/08/2020 19:12

Thanks @EarringsandLipstick I have been to the doctors a couple of times and theyve done blood tests and said that I'm a bit anaemic and have not commented further so thought it wasn't an issue.

In regards to the rest of it I know it sounds odd and a bit unbelievable but it's just not stopping. It's one thing after another at the moment and It feels like I'm in a prank show or something haha
