To ask if anyone has been fined for not wearing a face mask?

Technically speaking I could be exempt but I'm not about to take the risk. Either to others, or myself in terms of a fine.

Has anyone been fined?

Hi OP. I work in a small independent shop, where we actually only have space for one customer at a time. Some people wear masks, and others do not. A few days ago, a policewoman came to the shop, just as a customer, and I asked her whether she's issues many fines to people. She said she hasn't fined a single person, nor have any of her colleagues. Not because they haven't seen anyone not wearing a mask, but because it's so far down on their priority list, that it's not worth the hassle and paperwork.

Police were in my local supermarket a few weeks ago after a local lockdown was implemented asking people who weren’t wearing masks why. I have no idea of the outcome of this but it did surprise me to know they were doing this - I fully support them doing so.

If you can wear one then you aren't exempt. It isn't a magic list of conditions that exempts you.

You "fully support" disabled people and victims of domestic abuse being questioned by police for doing their shopping?! Just because they can ask for details of someone's reasonable excuse, doesn't mean they should.

No. i wear one when supermarket shopping but limit the places i go to where they are needed and no longer use public transport. I dont know of anyone being fined in my area.

I’m a police officer, haven’t issued any. We aren’t allowed to challenge someone who says they are exempt/ask why etc, nor are we allowed to decide what constitutes a face covering. I assume the guidance has been the same across other forces.
