Only Connect/Very Hungry Caterpillar outrage

DH and I are rewatching Only Connect because we’re nerds cool.

On a recent episode, in round 2 the first picture was 4 strawberries. EASY 5 points, I think - the answer is 1 nice green leaf. DH (and the contestant) say the answer is 1 apple. They get the points. I think they would have had to also give me the points and that my answer is actually more logical - moving forwards through the week, not backwards.

Obviously this is incredibly important. What do you think?

YANBU - it's the wrong way round to be one apple!

They would probably accept either if you buzzed on the first one , the second clue would have revealed the direction

YABU because he eats the 4 strawberries
on Thursday, the 5 oranges on Friday and then on Saturday he eats all the one cake, lollipop etc. AND THEN one green leaf. One green leaf would only work if he ate it on Sunday but it never actually says he does.

It can only be 1 green apple as it only goes to saturday I think.
