How long would you wait to be paid?

I’ve recently been on holiday and my boyfriend asked me to bring something back for his brother. It cost me £90. I finished my quarantine on Thursday and met up with my BF yesterday to hand it over. He hasn’t paid me. I asked him last night and he said he will do a bank transfer. He hasn’t yet.

How long would you wait before mentioning it again? I know it’s not a huge amount of money but it’s a lot to me and will pay for a few food shops.

I think he is being a CF. AIBU?

Just text him and say you need the money transferred over today please. Keep it simple.

I think that's a very individual thing.

My Aunt would pay you before you'd got in the front door.

My friend just paid me her share of a room we shared for a week last Nov (I'd forgotten about it)

My neighbour pays me when she remembers (for bits of shopping).

It doesn't seem like anytime at all to me from you giving it to your boyfriend to now, but if things are tight for you, it would have been thoughtful if him to have the money to give you when he first saw you.

It's more about his attitude than the precise timings though isn't it?!

Thanks - you’re right, it is more about his attitude than anything else. He’s incredibly tight fisted and wouldn’t tolerate it from me. In fact, he has refused to get stuff for me in the past unless I gave him the money.

I would be firm then. Insist on him paying you back asap and mention it every single time you speak to him.
