To ask is this eczema or a rash? 10 month old

Looking for some opinions as he does have eczema but this is a lot more than usual! He is happy in himself...

He is having investigations at hospital took a stool sample yesterday and a blood test for coeliac disease due to two weeks of loose stools 🤔

Ooh that's hard to tell. Does it feel rough like eczema? It's quite blotchy

the doctor seen his rash. I would ask for medical advice if its suddenly.got worse.

Has he been poorly recently? It looks a bit like post viral rash?

My 1 year old has had a rash a bit like that recently. I assumed heat rash for her but hard to tell from your picture.
