Going back to school

I just wondered when most schools go back? My DD goes back on Monday 7th September. Do most kids go back then or earlier at the end of the previous week?

The reason I ask is I've not taken my DC too far afield this summer for fear of crowds. If lots of schools go back earlier then I might be brave enough to take them to a big park in the city.

We’re Leicestershire and our school goes back on 25th August.

At my dc's school, each year group will go in for one day only on the previous week (to be familiarised with new systems), then all back on the 7th.

Mine are all back on the 2nd, inset day on the 1st.

We're in Kent. Our new year 7 go back on 1st September, the sixth form go back later that week and the rest of the school begin on 7th September. Because we didn't have our normal transition week in early July, it gives the new kids time to get to know their way around the school before the hoards return!

Should say all schools I know of in local area.

I'm sure some are returning 3rd!

If you’re anywhere near Leicestershire then come here because all the kids will be at school by the end of August.

Ours is doing y7/12 on 2nd, y11/10 on 3rd, everyone else on 4th.
My dns school are doing each year group for one day from 2nd then everyone from 9th. They are in the same la so seems every school is doing things differently.
