To not want to ask friends and family for this?

I’m crowdfunding to raise money for a resource to help children with SEN and their families (won’t go into detail here). Problem is I’ve set up the crowdfund page etc but don’t want to bombard friends and family with this as whilst I’m setting it up it’s not personal to me. Anyone with experience of crowdfunding, who do you ask for the money?

I don't have experience of crowdfunding personally, but can you get in touch with your local/regional/cause-specific media outlets and ask for their help in raising awareness?

Also, on social media, rather than directly targeting F&F and asking for donations, could you just post occasional public updates about your involvement with the cause and then have a link at the end (or in your email signature) "For more information" for those who might be interested in learning more and (hopefully) donating, without feeling any pressure or expectation to do so?
