To consider taking a travel cot for 20 month old camping?

Just that really. He's getting a bit big for now as he's massive but a very wriggly sleeper. Should we take a travel cot or just a toddler sleeping bag and self inflating mattress. We already have both

I would take a travel cot, so you know he can’t go for a midnight wander!

Def a cot! I just did with my 2 year old

Thingsthatgo · 13/08/2020 18:28

Yep. We did.

Absolutely a cot.

We took the travel cot for years. Can double as a safe play pen when you are cooking.

LatteLover12 · 13/08/2020 18:32

Yep. We did this. Totally worth it!

Yup, travel cot. I didn't when youngest was a similar age, & it turned out our campsite had a babbling brook. Which was in flood.

Dd2 slept great in her sleeping bag alongside her siblings.

Me, not so much, given that dd2's ambition every waking hour was to make for the brook. I slept across the tent entrance after furiously pegging down on all sides.

It was not a relaxing weekend! In hindsight we absolutely should have brought her travel cot.

Pleased to have started a thread where everyone is in agreement! Will definitely be packing the travel cot. Haven't been camping since DS was 8 months old and didn't take it then as he was happy to lie down and sleep next to me. Now it's like bed sharing with an octopus crossed with mr tickle! And my god he's fast! Never thought of using it as a baby cage play pen but I have already packed the screw in stake for the dog...
