Someone who I thought was a good friend, brought DS a belated birthday gift (when I had insisted it wasn't necessary). And that gift was.... a box of kinetic sand (which is now mainly spread all over my living room floor...).

What delights can I offer her child in return for Christmas? I need to start planning my revenge now...

Something involving glitter. Maybe a Glitter By Numbers "painting" set.

Or a mouth organ.

DontGoIntoTheLongGrass · 13/08/2020 17:38

Make your own slime kit. It never works.

Aquabeads. They go everywhere!

Or my first band toy...

IamwhoIwanttobe · 13/08/2020 17:42

Kinetic sand actually cleans up really well. Get the dust pan & brush. See for yourself. Stop trying to think of a way of getting revenge. If she's your good friend, she wouldn't have done it maliciously. Also, its not her fault you wasn't watching your child playing with the stuff. 🤦‍♀️

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 13/08/2020 17:51

Yeh those water bead things....shame loom bands died out

vegansprinkle · 13/08/2020 17:59

There's always one... @IamwhoIwanttobe it's light hearted. And I have just finished cleaning it up.

Glitter.... oooooohhh cackles and taps fingers together

Kinetic sand is fab! DS loves it and it’s easier to clean up than play dough.
I buy it as a present Blush for people I like.

vegansprinkle · 13/08/2020 18:01

Ps: @IamwhoIwanttobe yes it was her fault actually, I was in the garden hanging out washing and she gave him the gift directly, without my knowledge or presence. The first I knew was when I came back into the house...

A recorder...

sunnysidegold · 13/08/2020 18:02

For his first christmas,my mil gave my three month old a football rattle thing - you know the one you swing round and round. They're very loud. Also he could not hold it.

My bil buys gifts my kids love but he hates so I'm waiting for him to have a child so I can send them a drum kit.

duvetaddict · 13/08/2020 18:02

Drum kit

ShrimpSymphony · 13/08/2020 18:03

A recorder and the Frozen songbook

kissmysass · 13/08/2020 18:03

Never have I hated anyone more than the friend who bought my daughter a recorder and a tambourine 😅

duvetaddict · 13/08/2020 18:05

Or a violin, worst sound ever when the kid can't play it

Morgan12 · 13/08/2020 18:06

Marble run!

It's so annoying. The DC will make the adults build it. And it breaks all the time so they will need to fix it constantly.

It's by far the most annoying toy my DS has ever had.

vegansprinkle · 13/08/2020 18:07

Recorders!!!!!! Grin

vegansprinkle · 13/08/2020 18:08

@duvetaddict this is my favourite so far. I am happy to spring for a second hand violin...

Several whoppee cushions that the kids can leave scattered around the house!

duvetaddict · 13/08/2020 18:11

@vegansprinkle I had one, I was horrendous!

BluebellForest836 · 13/08/2020 18:14

100% a recorder ... one for each of her children Grin

Felifox · 13/08/2020 18:17

A tambourine!

iklboo · 13/08/2020 18:20

A vuvuzela

Kasecabanos · 13/08/2020 18:20

High-heeled princess shoes (favourite present of my daughter for her 4th birthday, nearly sprained her ankle every time she wore them), microphone (we have one and hasn't been charged for 2 years, my children are loud enough without it), any singing doll...

Seriouslyconfused3 · 13/08/2020 18:26

Those spiky ball things that join together. Absolute bastard if they get in hair

vegansprinkle · 13/08/2020 19:11

@Seriouslyconfused3 that sounds painful! I don't want to hurt them.

OP posts:
Seriouslyconfused3 · 13/08/2020 19:15

Yeah someone got them for my dc and I’m still bitter about it Grin
