Just that really! I know it isn't really an AIBU but thought you were a good crowd to ask.

Looking for a decent scary book to get my teeth into, ideally on Kindle Unlimited.

I'd be grateful for any suggestions!

Anything by Mark Edwards! His books are so creepy and fun.

I'll have to look at my Kindle to see what I have on there. If you have Prime, make sure you check each month for the Amazon First Reads. They have a selection of books each month for free. This month I chose Interference by Brad Parks. He's a good thriller writer.

ListenLinda · 13/08/2020 06:39

Mark Edwards is a brilliant thriller writer. My personal favourite is The Magpies or Follow You Home.

SpeckledFrogsLog · 13/08/2020 06:49

Anything by Shani Struthers. The Psychic Surveys series is good but she has also written some stand alone books.

I’ll be checking out the Mark Edwards books!

Dean Koontz writes brilliant horrors. I've read a few, loved them all.

There's a collection of 9 books on today's daily deal. 99p to buy, or on Kindle Unlimited. Not my thing, but the reviews are good.

I'm not sure if Kindle unlimited is really worth it unless you read an awful lot and aren't really bothered about what you read. I just keep an eye on the monthly and daily deals so I can pick up the books I want to read when they are 99p.

It probably costs about the same as I do spend £5-10 a month on books, but I get the books I actually want to read, not the limited selection in KU, which hardly any of the books I do want to read are part of.

Having said that, I've enjoyed the DCI Ryan books by LJ Ross, but that's crime fiction not thriller/horror and George Mahood, but that's silly travel stuff.

@BarbaraofSeville thanks for the heads up! Just bought those - brilliant value!

Another vote for Mark Edwards. I've just read Magpies followed in quick succession by Follow You Home.

Kindlingwood · 13/08/2020 19:03

Be careful buying Mark Edwards books. The real one is brilliant. There is Another Mark Edwards o amazin and he is NOT good. They look the same ‘style’ book. Think he now has a letter in his name, bu just double check the reviews. The fake one reviews are brilliantly awful.

MsEllany · 13/08/2020 19:12

The Call by Peadar o Guillen is brilliant. It’s only 49p.

MsEllany · 13/08/2020 19:14

Mark Edwards are all on kindle unlimited by the looks of things!

MellowBird85 · 13/08/2020 19:31

Sarah England’s Father of Lies trilogy is fantastic. Occult, witchcraft and psychiatric patients if that’s your thing.

Ritasueandbobtoo · 14/08/2020 07:16

Oooh Patrick Logan writes brilliant FBI thrillers or Stephen leather.

Another recommendation for Shani Struthers. Enjoyed the Psychic Surveys ones. Also really enjoyed The Venetian.

Mark Edwards is another good one. The Magpies gave me weird dreams for ages as it's so unsettling!
