"Just the two of us" weddings

Not an AIBU by shamelessly posting for traffic.

We've fucked off the registry office and want to go away somewhere in England and get married, with noone else there (bar some strangers that will be witnesses).

There's so many elopement / 2 people wedding packages advertised online and I just don't know where to start.

If anyone has done this in England, in a pretty place where they also feed you, would love to hear any recommendations.

Surely it’s simply a matter of contacting the Registrar to get it organised, and booking a meal for afterwards?

What do you need a ‘package’ for? You’ll just get the same but pay considerably more for it.

I'm happy to pay a little more for a lovely couple of days away somewhere, including a wedding. That's why I'm asking.

I'd choose where I want to eat and go for there (cause I love my meals!).

For example, I'd love to do a dinner at Tom Kerridge's place at Marlow and then stay in one of the cottages linked to the restaurant (they bring you hot chocolate and cookies before bed and everything!). So I'd look at where the nearest register office was for that and then go from there...

I love the idea of this though - good luck finding somewhere you love :)

Thanks @BrowncoatWaffles. I think I've emailed every place in the country that offers it today 😂 but nothing beats first hand recommendations.

Ideally I'd want - arrive day before, nice dinner, few drinks, all nearby or onsite. Big breakfast and a leisurely morning the next day, slowly get ready, wedding, bubbles, lovely dinner, more bubbles, bed.

Throw a hot tub in there somewhere and I'm sold 😂

Try Wee Weddings in Crear, Scotland. (Not England, but still GB!)

@JorisBonson

I genuinely don't know where the register office would be, but these are the rooms at The Hand and Flowers - and there are hot tubs! Marlow is a lovely town for a mooch, very pretty and on the river, so hopefully a romantic place to go.

(I don't work for them or anything, but I've booked a 40th birthday weekend away for DH there as a special surprise and am a bit obsessed by it all! There's a second Kerridge pub in the town you can walk to (and apparently their breakfast is lovely too).

@Pangur2 thank you but all my family are in Scotland so we're avoiding it 😂
