Have name changed as this is outing (especially if anyone was also there).

Dh and I went for a break this weekend. Nice country hotel but not like that amazing.

Anyway - a family turned up via helicopter and parked it on the main lawn - so basically left it where everyone was sitting eating dinner/having drinks,

Unsurprisingly a parked helicopter gets quite a lot of attention from children playing on the lawn. As a small child with his mum went to peer into the window the husband came running across (a very long) lawn screaming “DONT TOUCHMY HELICOPTER” kid wasn’t touching it and do t park a fucking helicopter in a huge public space if you don’t want anyone looking at it.

First AIBU to think the guy was an absolute duck and secondly have you ever experienced anything as ridiculous.

The really rich ppl own the helicopter but treat it as a source of income by hiring it out by the hour to the knobheads like this

Tynley Hall is nice, but certainly not helicopter worthy.
Bloke's a knobber.

I had a work colleague who talked about friends who regularly ferried their offspring to and from boarding school in a helicopter. And who paid someone to decorate their Christmas tree.

I’ve got tears running down my face to ‘have you left your bags in the helly’.

Brilliant, brilliant thread !

I’d have maintained eye contact with him as I licked the helly.

I’m surprised no one has mentioned the poor man’s idea of a rich man, Mr Trump. It was in Vanity Fair.
“BIll Gates also discussed a time when Trump met his daughter, Jennifer Gates, at a “horse-show thing” in Florida.”
“About 20 minutes after talking to Jennifer at the event, Gates said, Trump reappeared in style, flying in on a helicopter to the same place he had just been.”

I remember many years ago visiting Crathorne Hall Hotel for Sunday lunch when a helicopter landed on the lawn outside the dining room. Lots of excitement from kids in the room, but the waiter just rolled his eyes and said 'he only works for British Gas, he's just showing off'
