Obviously posting here for traffic but I feel rather unreasonable to need to ask for help constructing a baby toy!

Our instructions sheet got destroyed and we've emailed the maker and Aldi but no joy.

Anyone got this toy and can share the instruction sheet?

I don't understand why you need instructions for this type of toy? It looks like free play, i.e. you build what you want.

Even if they have provided some ideas, they are not compulsory (and they'd probably be better off using their imagination anyway).

And even if you did want to make that specific thing, can't you tell how to do it from the photo? It looks pretty simple.

I have it - plane, robot and bike one? Let me get the baby to bed and I’ll take some photos for you. Give me an hour.

Wow... who split urine in your cornflakes?!

"It looks pretty simple" are four words that might as well be the death toll for so many DIY projects.... all looks simple until you have to deliver with an overexcited child

OP wish I could help but YANBU in the slightest for asking for it!

rosiejaune · 11/08/2020 18:52

Why would the OP need to "deliver" anything? It's a toy; isn't the child supposed to be playing with it?!

A significant aspect of this particular toy is the building bit, otherwise you could just buy a ready made plane.

If the parent builds it for them, what is the point?

SomeOtherGirl · 11/08/2020 18:59

It's because my little boy is right at the lower end of the recommended age so sees it as a plane and wanrs to build the plane. The photo is kind of obscured by the little girl's hand and I tried to help him and ended up screwing the pilot to the wing and his head came off 😳

@ThatsALovelyBush thank you so much! you're a star! My dad dropped a big jug of water on the floor whilst trying to shoo a wasp 😂 and the instructions turned into mashed potato 🤣

Therr aren't really enough pieces for true free play. I have a big box of knex from when I was 10 that's waiting for him to be old enough, and that's a lot more flexible, but even with that i was grateful for instructions to build the really good stuff.

But I do know what you mean - my ex back when I was 17 bought me a build your own model kit for my birthday and built it and glued it himself, totally missing the point. I don't think this is the same though, DS really can't build the plane alone and I can't figure it out without the instructions.

Last one!

And, @rosiejaune, it’s a fiddly nightmare for a just turned 3 year old. Happy to send you it to have a play with. I’ll not include the instructions so you can freestyle Wink
