My mum was awfully abusive to me, she would call me fat, ugly, and dumb. She was never kind. Other friends parents would cuddle and kiss them and tell them they loved them. That was never the case with me.

Do you feel that , as you’re now older, you may have altered your behaviour towards her so that she gives you the love and affection that you desperately missed from when you were younger?

Have you ever spoken to a counsellor about your relationship with your mum?
She will not have forgotten how she treated you.

The fact that you have come onto MN suggests to me that you have unresolved issues.

You need resolution else you will carry this emotional baggage forever.
