HR managers - help me please!

I have a job interview for a HR assistant role on Thursday.
I haven’t much experience in this specific field as I’m career changing, but I’ve been running restaurants for years and dealing with all the people management side of things and I’ve just spent 9 months working in recruitment.
I’m currently studying a CIPD level 5 as well.
Can anyone give me pointers as to what kind of things you’d want someone to be able to talk about in terms of experience and behaviours at this interview? I really want this role!

I'm not a HR manager but do work in HR and just finishing level 5. Do you know what kind of interview eg competency based or more of a chat? Look 👆 competency based questions and start to think of some good examples, a time when you have acted on feedback etc. Practice the STAR technique if you don't know it, and if you don't have an example from work, relate back to your studies.

Thanks for the help - I will look it up. I’m not sure whether it’ll be competency based or a chat at the moment but it can’t hurt to try and look at it!

Not an HRM but have worked in HR, suggest you think about how you’d build relationships with your stakeholders and how you manage tricky conversations.

Thank you! Both good points to help me prepare.
I think I can give some good examples too.

I think juggling priorities and collaboration may be useful too. Best of luck!
