Quick help - newborn sleeping on side

Posting for traffic. My 4 week old baby has rolled onto his side in his cot. What do we do? He is currently sleeping in a nappy only with no swaddle or sleeping bag as our bedroom is so hot. It's taken ages to get him to sleep.

Make sure does not roll onto front (as cannot roll back) but it’s fine to be on side only if he rolled that way from having been put down on back correctly.

My 12w old regularly sleeps on his side and his done all his life.

If baby has got their self into that position, it's safe to leave them. Including rolling onto their front. It's ok Smile

You could roll up a blanket and put it in front of them so they can’t roll onto their front?

Both of mine were side sleepers.
I got a lecture from the home visit nurse about back to sleep and how dangerous it was that I put her on her side then she watched Dd roll onto her side in the cot and said

“Oh she did it herself. Just make sure you put her to sleep at the start on her back.”

My second always rolled straight onto his side. He did it from birth. We could have turned him back but we'd have been up all night doing it repeatedly.
