Your Child Maintenance Service Customer Reference is xxxxxxxx- you need it when you call us. To manage your case online register at bit.ly/SStoYouTube

Are you satisfied with your Direct Pay arrangement? If you need to make a change contact us on bit.ly/SStoYouTube

How can this service be so inept ?These are two texts I received yesterday .
The video the link refers to has nothing to do with CMS ..and I don't have a direct pay arrangement as I get nothing due to clever accountancy from my ex....
Anyone else have a similar experience ?

Are you sure the messages actually came from the CMS?

AdoptAdaptImprove · 08/08/2020 17:24

Do you actually have a relationship with CMS, which would have resulted in a customer reference number? If not, aren’t these simply spam texts?

MumsyMumIAmNot · 09/08/2020 02:15

They are useless I have been with them 6 years. They don't chase missed payments and arrears just stack up. I'm lucky if I get £20pm. I don't even call them anymore its to frustrating.

TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 09/08/2020 02:23

They are inept. But are those real messages? The fact the link has YouTube in the address makes me doubt it

Gingerkittykat · 09/08/2020 03:02

The links are a series of 'how to' videos from the DWP, including instructions on how to manage CMS accounts.

It does seem bizarre they would send out a reference number by text though.

If you put a + after the link, it tells you where the link will send you.

so, bit.ly.sstoyoutube+ would send you to : 1005-phone-defend.blogspot.com/?c=bitly&link=sstoyoutube

Which is definitely not the CMS. I would suggest not opening the link looks like a scam.
