I feel really sorry for people that have had their wage cut by 40%. But the industry has changed so much and ba are pretty similar to a budget airline these days so people on contracts from decades ago seemed unsustainable. Or is there more I'm missing? It did seem to be a very two teired company where new joiners were on half of what others were paid for doing the same job
