To be so relieved my colleagues and I have been called back to work

After four months of furlough ( personally I’ve been very anxious about whether I still had a job, so have not enjoyed this time) that I’m not even remotely worried about going back to the office? Maybe I‘m being foolish but all I can feel at the moment is the most amazing sense of relief and gratitude that we still have jobs. Many of us really thought we’d be made redundant.

I get that. I was furloughed straight away after taking up a new role (luckily with the same employer) and spent the whole time worrying. I was brought back a fortnight ago and I am heaving a mahoosive sigh of relief!

Me too 😊 I go back on Monday, can’t wait, work have been very good at making it Coronvirus safe. I’m more worried about schools going back and having to isolate every 5 minutes, daughter in a bubble of 260.

Yanbu at all, hopefully your workplace is safe and worrying about whether you'll have a job must have been awful.

Don't blame you op. I've wfh throughout but can understand the relief of 1. Getting some normality back and 2. Having more assurance about your job! Hope it all goes well

I was so relieved when I was taken off furlough, too. I'd only been with the company for two weeks when lockdown started so I was really worried.

I was asked back from furlough at the beginning of July, but have just been informed I will be made redundant at the end of August.

Sad to say going back doesn't guarantee your job is safe unfortunately.
