To ask people who Teams a lot for work some questions? I'm freaking a bit ahead of a meeting I'm leading

Hi all,

I don't use Teams. I'm familiar with Zoom. But a client wants me to lead a content workshop tomorrow using Teams.

I am trying to see if I can use InVision whiteboard. I thought I had signed up to it as an App in my Teams. But when I use the log in details that the client has sent for the meeting - joining as a practice run, it's not there when I 'share'.

Is this because I am asked to join meeting and didn't generate the invite?

I feel woefully unprepared in this aspect only. Content wise, I'm fine.

There aren't any big expectations to use fancy apps but I want to have it in my pocket if I need to.

Thanks all. Sorry, posting here for traffic. I know it's not a AIBU

I'm not an expert but I've been using it since lockdown for teaching. I don't know the app you mention, but one thing I have done successfully is to share my screen. So I can write things on the screen in real time and then my students/colleagues can read them.

When on the video call, a horizontal bar comes across around 2/3 of the way down the screen when you move the mouse. Hover over the options and one (just to the left of centre I think) is the share screen one.

The other thing I have done in video calls is to open every app or document I might need and have them minimised at the bottom of the screen. Then when I share, it's one click and the others can see. Worked well when I did PowerPoint quizzes with my y7 tutor group as I didn't want them reading anything confidential. HTH

You need to make sure the person who created the invite has added you as a presenter. If they added you as a guest you will not be able to use any of the control functions, such as sharing, admitting people, mute all etc.
