You know when you read an OP and there are pages of replies?

Go the bottom left of the OP box and you'll see this;
OP’s posts: See next | See all

Click on see all, and you'll find out what's happened since the OP first posted. That will save you giving the same advice that 200 people have already given, that the OP has already taken, and which has long since superseded by further events. Then you won't look so stupid. You can thank me later.

@BlastEndedSkrewt

@ saraclara - thank you, I was clicking see all in the top of the message not at the bottom
I'm glad it worked out in the end!

I agree, but on the other hand it behooves the OP to put all relevant and obvious info in the first post, so other posters don't have to glean what's happened from parsing multiple posts spread across a whole thread (because they don't and won't). Then again, I don't like the post style here where it's one after another and I don't think it helps new people on a thread if OP can't edit their first post to add answers to commonly answered questions.
Then again a lot of people will half read a post and post anyway, even if OP set everything out they could possibly need to form an opinion.

@wigglerose

When an OP outlines their initial dilemma, they can hardly include the information that they have taken all the advice on board and will no longer be doing whatever they were contemplating.

There was a post recently where the OP had experienced abuse from a boyfriend and wasn't sure what to do. People gave advice and she followed it but people kept on giving her the same advice, including shaming her for not doing it straight away, even though by this time she had seen the police, been picked up by her Dad and left the area.

She could hardly have put all that in her first post but looking at the OP's posts or even just checking the last page would have put would be posters in the picture.
