To ask sewers how to repair this outfit! (Photo)

Apologies, I know AIBU is not the right place to post this but I'm on a timer!

I bought a wonderful outfit in the sale. I adore it, it's beautiful and doesn't make me look too fat (woohoo!)

I'm going out for the first time in 4 months tomorrow evening with DH for a meal.

I was trying on the outfit this afternoon and whilst doing so, I picked up our DS 7 months for a cuddle and play. Big mistake! I had put a small but strategically placed safety pin in front of my boobs as it's a wrap style and could have looked a bit obscene at a family restaurant!

Of course the first thing DS did was tug really hard without me noticing. He must have been pulling for a few minutes before I saw.

It's now got this small hole in the (jersey) type material at the front that's very obvious!

Can any sewers suggest the best way to repair this? Is it repairable?? It's so beautiful I'm hoping I can find a way to close the hole without making a massive mess of it!!

Ideally I'd love to have it fixed by tomorrow night so I can wear it if possible 😬

Any help gratefully appreciated!!

wikihow have an easy to follow tutorial on how to mend holes like this x

Can you darn it? Basically get thread the same colour ( or very slightly darker) and sew ting warp and weft stitches to fill the hole ?
Try pushing the proud stitches through to the back, before you start.
I think you can do it if you use very small stitches. Best of luck

You may be able to minimise the hole by rubbing it with your nail.
I can't think of any sewing techniques that will help though.

If the wrap style is too revealing you could place a brooch over the hole, securing left and right sides?

Strategically placed brooch for tomorrow night; there won't be time for your dry cleaner to do anything sooner. Then see if your dry cleaner does invisible mending. (Not every one offers this service) Jersey fabric is a job for a professional.
And for future reference, gappage can be helped by a press stud or two, less likely to cause a tear.

Brooch. I think trying to repair it, will probably make it worse.
