Beauty treatments cancelled, holding my deposit?

Just wanted to see if im crazy and being unreasonable or if the beauticians are being unreasonable...

Last week I booked in for eyelash extensions this Friday as face to face appointments were allowed and I wanted a treat before I go on a British holiday on saturday, but had to pay half the treatment cost upfront as a deposit (£25 paid).
However rules have changed and they can no longer do face to face appointments so my eyelash appointment was cancelled. The thing is they said they can't return my money but will keep it on account for my next treatment, which seems bizarre to me. This was the first time I had booked with this clinic as I only get treatments done occasionally for things like holidays, I don't have an account or anything.
Am I being unreasonable to kick up a fuss and get my money back as I'm mot going to rebook in the foreseeable future?

Was it ever described as a non-refundable deposit?

Nope nothing was mentioned about it being non refundable

No, they can’t legally keep it. If you need the money just ask for it back.

You don't need to kick up a fuss, at least not straight away. Just ring them and tell them they can't keep your deposit for an appointment they cancelled and you want it refunded immediately.
