I hate selling on FB marketplace. People who say they want it then radio silence when you're trying to arrange collection in the meantime a load more people are asking if it's available. When you've finally got a time arranged 90% don't show up. Back to the people who you told it was sold subject to collection and ask if they still want it and on and on the cycle goes. I put stuff on eBay now or Freecycle FB pages now it's so much easier.

Gumtree has always worked for me op.

I feel your pain.

Anything I list has COLLECTION ONLY in the title, and then as the first 2 words of the information.

That still doesn't stop people asking me to post, and get this they're even generous to offer to pay for postage... Like gee how generous of you Hmm it's still collection only.

I also now refuse to hold any items due to so many no shows. Whoever, wants to buy it, pay the price i'm asking and can collect it first is who I sell it to.

I’ve never had a problem selling on there. I wouldn’t sell anything I was too precious about getting a set amount for though. When we moved home and when we’ve had clear ours we’ve listed things and they’ve all happily gone. We put a fish tank on there on Sunday £50. Within 10 mins someone said will we take £40 we agreed and it was gone within the hour.

I find it doesn’t work for people who want to make all their money back on used items and won’t budge on the price

I always advertise for more than I want. This either discourages people or they offer a lower price around the same amount as I actually wanted.
