Received a set of weights I ordered but many are scuffed and some even covered in (what smells like) protein shake. I ordered new but they’re clearly used, probably returned.
I don’t want to return them as I’ve spend time cleaning them up and also they’re 35kg so I dread to think how much it would cost.
AIBU to have emailed asking for a partial refund? And if IANBU, how much refund would you expect? They are still in full working order.

50% off. Not only used but not cleaned - threaten a bad review, shame on Facebook, whatever is appropriate.

Goongoon · 04/08/2020 13:33

@Dreamersandwishers 50% is precisely what I thought (and asked for). The scuffs don’t bother me as much as the fact they’re dirty.

Fingers crossed for you; the one good thing about this virus is the opportunity to throw some righteous indignation around 😁

Its worth asking.

My weights arrived in a retaped up box and dusty but I didn't give it a second thought (till now lol)

@Coulddowithanap I know why you mean. It’s probably quite common for gym equipment. And I’d rather use a product that someone has returned than for it to go to landfill, but would prefer to choose to be returned/used and expect it not to smell of stale milk!

I know 2people who order new stuff and return it with their old tat in the box keeping the new thing. Like order new headphones or kettle in the same make then return them with their old broken ones in the box so get them for free. I always wondered if the store ever notices.
