To have liked the way Mishal Husain (?) finished by emphasising that her interviewee is DOCTOR Rashid Abbasi?

On Radio 4, Today prog.

I could weep for the way human beings are treated in England. Desperately ashamed to be a citizen of this country. (Of course we only know what's been reported - but the context suggests that the police behaviour could never be justified.)

So even if you think that racism played a part in the actions of those police officers, calling it out without a credible justification is a problem in my opinion,

Interesting that you appear to think the people actually affected by racist attitudes and behaviour are not the best people to judge when and how they might "call out" such behaviour.

And simply fascinating that you appear to believe that people that live and work amongst people likely to have racist attitudes aren't well placed to have opinions on how, and how not to, have a positive infulence on them.

Cap in hand and tug a forelock, huh?

I love MN. People in my real world are much, much too polite to pull the curtain aside so ... blatantly.

Pull the curtain aside? Care to elaborate and be explicit about the point you think you're making?

Cadent · 05/08/2020 15:42

You only refer to people you perceive to be beneath you as 'animal'. The doctors/police seemed to have assumed the Asian couple are voiceless as they're bearded/in hijab.

This is why they are trying now to bury the story and the hospital and doctors etc can't be named.

oldwhyno · 05/08/2020 19:20

@Cadent does that apply equally to Dr Abbasi? He appears to have called the Police Officers "bastards" and "animals" multiple times, whilst allegedly assaulting them, before one of them said he was "acting like an animal"?

Cadent · 05/08/2020 19:22

@oldwhyno

But there's no proof? Whereas him being called an animal is on tape?

Why are the hospital so desperate to bury the story?

oldwhyno · 05/08/2020 19:32

@Cadent if you can bear it, watch the whole video here:

There may be other footage I've not seen, but that's the most comprehensive I've found.

So the order of events may be different to what you've been lead to believe?

Your whataboutism is staggering OP. Do have a lie down.
