Just wondered if anybody had ever been for a reading and whether they told you things that they couldn't have known or if any of their predictions came true?

I went to see one while pregnant with DC3, they were part of the entertainment on a night out. She told me I was having a girl who would arrive a little earlier than planned and she has beautiful red hair. She told me my gran was proud of me and was there with her passing in a message saying as much.

I had a boy, he was ten days overdue and had brown hair, and my gran was still alive at that point.

Ooops! Not on the money then!

I've been for around 10 over the years. All shit. Totally shit, and to be honest I was completely deflated and depressed about it, because my mum used to go a few times a year and got absolutely amazingly accurate readings (think getting mine and my siblings initials correct, sex correct, initials of people of had died correct as well as circumstances, and loads more things. This was pre Facebook and she didn't have this info online). I gave up trying years ago, it just made me too sad.

BoingBoingyBoing · 01/08/2020 18:38

It's all complete bollocks.

Arsewell · 01/08/2020 18:56

I've had one accurate reading, back in 1997. The others were bollocks.

I was watching Tyler Henry on Amazon Prime, who is supposedly the psychic to Hollywood stars. Whilst being driven to his appointment with a celeb he reiterates he has no idea who he is about to meet. They open the door, both say hello and on one he said something like 'hello, I'm sorry I don't recognise you, I don't watch much tv.' How does he know they are on tv? It's bunkum.

A workmate went to one years ago, she was young and had been a single mum living with her parents for 6 years. The medium said she would meet someone very soon and they would be married and have a baby on the way within a year. She laughed when she told us, saying it was absurd.

3 weeks later she met a friend of mine at my engagement party, and they were married and had a baby on the way within a year. It was weird because my mate was a bit of a lad and the last person we thought would settle down. They're still together 30 years later.

Another friend was told that she would meet someone on a long bus journey in November, she went on a long bus journey back home in November but met no one and was disappointed and just wrote the prediction off, a year later she went on the same long bus journey and met her current husband.

It's never worked for me, I just get bollix about spoons and grandmas and the fact that I live at home!!! Course I live at home, whereever I live is home 😂

Saw the same lady twice over a couple of years . She knew some weird sfuff that wasn't generic and could only apply to me.
A few things about my dd that didn't make sense until a few years later..
She only charged a tenner, lived in a simple home and wasn't in any way odd or eccentric!!

SusieOwl4 · 01/08/2020 20:29

I was going to say no . Because one I went to was rubbish . But I just remembered in the middle of the reading she said there is a man with grey hair and he is always putting his feet upon the desk and he is getting in your way .

A year later my boss gave me some shares and retired and he was grey haired and he always used to put his feet up on the desk with no shoes on.

That was a bit woo .

I agree that 99.9% of these are charlatans but over thirty years ago I reluctantly visited someone with two work colleagues. They had heard of this man Mr.C, in his sixties still working in engineering who would do readings from his home. It was a pleasant but unassuming semi detached, his wife let us in, very down to earth. He only knew our first names, there wasn't any internet or social media. We saw him individually, I went first into the lounge and he said "You have only one child, a 4 year old boy"
This was before I had even sat down. He didn't hold my hand or anything. I just sat across from him in an armchair and he asked had I any questions, but in between he would say things like you have a younger brother, there's just the two of you and quite a big age gap.
I asked would I have more children and he said "No, but you've already decided this". I was astonished because it was true!
I started asking him questions about himself and he said he gets feelings about people, almost like a vision and said for example someone had visited him the previous evening and Mr.C said I just saw him in a dark uniform instead of the casual clothes he was wearing. He turned out to be a police officer.
Mr C said he had been able to do this from a young age but felt uncomfortable, he did 'readings' for his work colleagues through the years and they encouraged him to take it further. I ended up liking him because he said he didn't pretend to contact the dead and if he couldn't sense anything from you, he wouldn't change.
Straight away he told my male colleague that he saw him as a cricketer and a cricket statistician, also true.
I never went back and he died several years ago.

*Charge not change!

I always thought it was total rubbish.

Then one day I accidentally ended up in a psychic reading (don't ask). The woman immediately stated that my grandfather on my mother's side was there (he had died 6 months previously). She said he was worried about a specific health problem (dont want to go into details) in his wife, my gran. She said it must get seen to. It is true we had been struggling to have it taken seriously by doctors. Later that year we pushed to have it resolved and she was ok after that.

The person also told me I would move abroad for a second time, which I did. To be honest it upset me so much i wouldnt be likely to do it again.
