Itch I can't find

9 replies

liklypaddy · 01/08/2020 00:03

Does anyone else get this regularly?

I'm going insane scratching my arm to pieces because I can't work out which part of it itches.

It was a little annoying to start with.

Now I just want to cry!

How do I find the bloody itch?!

Yes, but no help I'm afraid :(

I had blood tests after this type of issue. Low iron and menopause (I have premature ovarian failure) both cause it. My bloods showed both issues needed meds. Not had the crazy itch since.

If persists mention to gp

I have this when I eat sugary foods. I have cut back and generally eat some natural yoghurt and take garlic supplement.

Wipe your arm with a wet flannel

I get something like this on my heels sometimes. It's not a normal itch. The only way I can describe is like an internal itch and scratching makes no difference. A cold, wet flannel draped over the area really helps though.

I have this around a huge scar, I itch one bit and another bit reacts! It's the weirdest feeling, mine is nerve damage - could yours be anything like that, any injuries to the area recent or otherwise?

@FinlandFlag my iron levels are through the floor and I've just started ferrous sulphate. I wonder if that's it!

@liklypaddy yup!

As soon as I mentioned my itch to gp she said we need to check your bloods and she said I wonder if your iron is low again and it was. Sounds likely then.
