With my toast?

When I make toast, after it's buttered I put it butter side to butter side on the plate. This keeps the bottom, unbuttered side crisp and stops it going soggy. Dh has just told me (after 15 years) that it's really weird and nobody does that!

So, aibu??

I do the same as you OP, DH tells me I am wrong , mind you when he makes a sandwich he puts the crust ends opposite each other.Confused

I just put the 2 slices next to each other butter up. Or have one slice now I’m calorie counting.

I do the pyramid thing, just for a couple of minutes. I don't butter it until I'm about to eat it. I can see the point of toast racks, tbh, but couldn't bring myself to get one.

@joaner36

You gotta make it into a pyramid to let it go cold then butter it!
Yes, I do this too. I used to like hotel toast made with real bread (before it was made with soya and chickpea flour) because it was left in a toast rack to get cold before it was served.

I don't put it on the counter because of 'toast sweat' (Frasier).

If there’s insufficient space on the plate to have all slices in a single layer, then yes I would do what you do. I only want butter on one side of my toast!

reginaphalangeeee · 31/07/2020 12:27

That’s exactly what I do, but I then cut them in half like a sandwich. But I don’t eat it like a sandwich, I have one half at a time. If it’s butter side to butter side it keeps the butter warm and melty!

I love the soggy ones

Askastupidquestion · 31/07/2020 12:36

@reginaphalangeeee you have it spot on.
