AIBU - I'm 2 weeks a away from giving birth and my husband has had to go away with work. Back tomorrow. Have a 28 month old and I feel so bad we can't do much as even a short walk breaks me and it's also super hot today. He is getting whiny on and off at the smallest thing (POSs terrible twos?) and so the easy option is to let him watch tv but I feel so bad and like I'm not engaging with him but when I do engage and play sometimes he's fine but mostly today he's been misery guts lol

Jeez OP - give yourself your break!
You are full term pregnant.
Just chill out and allow your 2YO to do the same!
Pick you battles.
This is not one of them.
Do what you need to do to keep calm and relaxed.
Nothing wrong with screen time.
It's too hot outside any way.

I just feel a bit like a rubbish parent Cos when the tv is off he's whiny so much of today and I really have no idea why

I feel guiltier every day. He's watching far too much tv but I'm one week away from my due date, worn out, too bloody hot and when hubby is at work I just can't function as well

Just do whatever makes things easier for you atm. It won't last forever, some extra tv won't scar him. It'll be fine x

Whatever gets you through. Give yourself a break. It won't harm him long term.

I remember being struck down with a virus while my dh was away (family 5 hours away in another country). I had a 3yr old and a 12 month old. CBeebies was on constantly while I lay on the sofa. I saved my energy to get them food and drinks (slowly!).

They're teens now and fine. They do love tv and film though! Youngest ds wants to work in film production and eldest DD writes scripts for her drama group! 😂
